The offense has also been expanded and now allows formation changes on the line.įranchise mode now features Storyline Central, which includes an 'EA Sports Radio' show hosted by Tony Bruno, with game and league news and features, player interviews and fan call-ins. Defensive play control (which allows you to change positions on the fly) and defensive routes have also been introduced. The main changes to defensive play include the introduction of the Hit Stick, which allows accurate, context-sensitive tackles to be made using the second analog stick.
There are also expansions to the franchise mode and online modes, plus other additions and changes. In addition to the usual roster updates, the main gameplay changes in this version mainly concern defensive play. The Madden series returns for another year with Madden NFL 2005.
